Homage to Serge

Even though it’s been 20 years since the passing of French actor, singer and songwriter Serge Gainsbourg, fans continue to treat his home in Paris as a shrine. There’s no missing the place on a quiet, affluent side street in Saint Germain.
The place apparently has been uninhabited for years and is maintained by Gainsbourg’s daughter, Charlotte, a well-known actress.
Who can ever forget his then-scandalous and hugely popular recording, “Je t’aime… moi non plus,” in which a then-young Jane Birkin simulated sounds of an orgasm. It sure sounded real to me.
Birkin eventually gave birth to Charlotte Gainsbourg. I know it’s complicated … but it’s French.
