Blue moon over the nation’s capital
“Once in a blue moon …” It’s a phrase I’ve heard all my life to signify something rare to happen. In reality, it’s when we have a full moon twice in a month, and the phenomenon occurs every two or three years.
Chincoteague Island, a place caught in time
Chincoteague is both a town and a wild island, a game preserve along the outer Atlantic banks of Virginia. The town caters to tourists during much of the year … closes up tight during the winter months because the cold and wind can be brutal.
Colorful Craft Market in Haarlem, Holland
I travel to Holland quite regularly for work and always fit in a few days with my best friend and her family who live just outside Amsterdam in the city of Haarlem. This past Monday afternoon, we took the bikes out and cycled into the town center where we came across this colorful market in the main square. The colors were just exploding on my Fujifilm X10, and I only had to make very minor adjustments on iPhoto.
